3 weeks old

Grammy is here and is helping out a LOT! She takes Sumaya every other night, so we are able to get some sleep. Sumaya loves her Grammy.

She's ready for Easter, thanks to Grammy.

Her weight went down a bit when she came home from the hospital, but she's up to 7lbs from 5lbs 13oz! She's very alert and definitely more interested in eating now.

The only time she cries is when she's hungry. Must have been time to eat when this picture was taken!

Emad and I have been blessed with a wonderfully sweet daughter. She is amazing.

10 days

Emad had a great idea today...let's go for a walk. Yeah, fresh air and exercise. We're so consumed with being parents, we have to remind each other to do things like eat and sleep.

Yes, it probably looks cold, but it was actually over 50. We made the walk brief, still.

Sumaya was very cozy and warm in her stroller.

We love Sumaya!

Monday morning, while getting ready for work, my water broke. Called the hospital and they said come in asap, so we packed our bags (hadn't done that yet!) and we were off. I started having contractions as soon as we got to the hospital - less than 2 miles away. Lots of questions, paperwork and 5 IV attempts later, we were off to the operating room. They brought Emad in after everything was set up. He didn't want to see ANY of it. I, on the other hand, got to see her being born, which was pretty darn cool and a little surreal. Emad went with Sumaya and the nurses to get her weighed and cleaned up while they put me back together. They brought her to me so I could see her, then we both went to our room. She is doing quite well for coming at only 36 weeks 4 days.

underneath the rainbow on the monitor, it says her weight, 6lb 6oz.

i think she's trying to sing here...mary can help her with that

the hospital uses the halo sleep sacks instead of a regular blanket and we loved them, so i bought 2.

yes, she has a lot of hair, which will most likely fall out soon

ready to go home!

I'm definitely ready to go...waiting in the hall for the volunteer to take us downstairs

Dylan, Gavin and Summer came to visit

The home health nurse came to check on us today. Sumaya lost a little more weight, so we need to continue to make sure she's eating enough. I'm healing well, just need to get more rest when possible.

more pictures to come...

36 weeks

Everything was great at our 36 week appointment on Thursday. Yesterday I also had a a pre-op appointment with the doctor who will be doing the c-section (my doctor will be out of town). I really liked her and am happy she will be doing the surgery. She anticipates my stay in the hospital to be about 3 days, so hopefully we'll be home on 3/27.

Not much else going on here. I don't have a lot of energy these days, so we've been sticking close to home. Hopefully the weather will be a little nicer for when grammy arrives on 3/23. We're so excited! xo
