sumaya pics

Life has been a little hectic the past 3 weeks with me going back to work and the three of us trying to get into a new routine. It's working out pretty well and will smooth out over time. Here are some recent pictures of Sumaya. She is so much fun these days. She smiles and laughs a lot - just like her mom and dad. I think she will be getting her first tooth soon, as she's constantly soaked in drool and a tad fussy. On 7/7 (Happy Anniversary Auntie Leslie & Uncle Daren!) is Sumaya's 4 month appointment. She's very happy and healthy.

Going to get our package from grammy.

Sumaya loves her new book from grammy

Chillin' at the lake

Super cool new blanket our friend Shoshana made for Sumaya. It's very cozy and we love it!

memorial day

After it stopped raining yesterday, we went to French Park. It turned out to be a beautiful day, just extremely windy and HOT (that would explain the tornado warnings across the state).

Sumaya is ready to go.

On the shore of Medicine Lake. They call this a beach! Emad kept saying, "This isn't a beach."

tram from the parking area to "beach"

we went to practice driving (Emad got his permit) and on the way saw this family of geese

in Egypt, they eat geese

so he tried to catch one.......unsuccessfully

 we're very serious about bathtime

I'm going back to work tomorrow. These 3 months at home went by very quickly, but I'm thankful I got to take as much time as I did to stay home with Sumaya. Emad works nights so he will take care of her during the day. She is pretty much on a schedule, so things are going much more smoothly now. She loves her bath and storytime before bed. She is 3 months old and wears 3-6 month clothes. Her next check up is in one month.

picnic

Yesterday Sumaya and I had a picnic with Marilou, Norma and Carlos at French Park and had a great time.

Carlos

He really makes me laugh and is a lot of fun!

Norma made this beautiful quilt for Sumaya. I love it...and she didn't even know we like frogs! Thanks Norma! xo

French Park, in Plymouth, was really pretty. I'm hoping the weather will be nice this weekend (it's raining now) so Emad, Sumaya and I can go.

lake minnetonka park

Got in the car on Sunday and found Lake Minnetonka Park. It was a little chilly near the lake, but otherwise a beautiful day.

Camera battery died before we could get a picture of Sumaya...here are some from the past few days.

always enjoy my busy mat...and in my new outfit from auntie leslie.

in my outfit today from uncle brian and aunt angela

Sumaya is doing really well and is a very happy baby. She's more interactive and smiles and laughs a lot. She is enjoying her bathtime more and more and it's so much fun to watch. Can't wait for the pool to open and see how she likes it. We're starting to establish somewhat of a routine, which makes things a lot smoother - and will make it easier when I go back to work June 1.

We were told we've violated our lease agreement with too many people in the apartment. Seems like a good time to move back to CA, but with the rents about double there, not sure it's feasible. Keep us in mind if you hear of any 2 bedroom apartments for rent in MN and/or CA. We would, of course, love to be closer to family!

a day out

Yesterday we decided to go on a picnic but the weather wasn't cooperating, so we went for a drive through Minnetonka instead - and we were pleasantly surprised.

Sumaya in her 'crabby' outfit (with socks, sister!)

Just off Minnetonka Blvd, we came across a property that had an old home and cottage. It used to be owned by a Mr. Burwell, who was the manager of the Minnetonka Mill Company.

it had just rained, but wasn't cold...maybe 70.

There was a small river that ran along the side of the property and we saw a few people canoeing. The water was actually moving pretty fast - probably from the melted snow and recent rain.

 and there they go...

and Sumaya slept through it all.

we see this little guy sitting outside all the time and when we said hi to him he came to the end of the driveway.

ducks...a lot of wildlife here in MN. Many times we've seen deer on walks or on the freeway(!), foxes, eagles, ducks, rabbits, squirrels, geese, possums, racoons...

until next time...
